Dutch Midfielder Eager To Return To Starting Lineup

Atalanta's De Roon Ready for Action After Hernia Surgery

Dutch Midfielder Eager to Return to Starting Lineup

Injury Concerns Behind Him as Season Resumes

Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon is fully recovered from a hernia operation and eager to return to the starting lineup as the Serie A season resumes. The Dutch international underwent surgery in January to address a persistent groin issue, but is now pain-free and raring to go.

"I'm feeling really good," said de Roon. "The operation went well and I'm now fully fit. I've been training hard and I'm ready to play again."

De Roon is expected to be available for selection for Atalanta's upcoming match against Roma. The midfielder's return to fitness is a major boost for the Bergamo club, who have been struggling for form in his absence.

Atalanta are currently seventh in the Serie A standings, well off the pace of the leaders. However, de Roon believes that the team can turn things around and qualify for European competition next season.

"We know that we haven't been playing well lately, but we're determined to improve," said de Roon. "We have a lot of quality in our squad and I'm confident that we can achieve our goals.
